If you’re traveling on Minnesota Highway 95 in the Denmark Township and Cottage Grove area, you’ll soon encounter a road closure and detour as crews continue working on a safety improvement project, weather permitting.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. June 10, Highway 95 between 70th Street and U.S. 61 will close to thru traffic. Motorists will be directed to follow the detour of 70th Street, Keats Avenue and U.S. 61. Local access will be maintained for businesses and residents from 110th Street.
The section of roadway is expected to reopen in late August.
This work is part of the larger Highway 95 safety improvement project and will take two construction seasons to finish. This year’s work will include widening shoulders, adding turn lanes and resurfacing the road. Construction is expected to be complete by late fall 2020.
