The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will make stops in the Twin Cities metro area this weekend.

At every stop, the brightly lit and decorated train gathers money and supplies for food shelves and local charities. The stops often feature live music and sales of holiday cookies and food.

The Minnesota stops are among 150 that two such trains will make across the United States and Canada.

In Cottage Grove, the train will stop at 5:45 p.m. Friday at the Belden Crossing, south of 80th Street near U.S. 61. The nearest address is the Youth Service Bureau, 7064 West Point Douglas Road S.

At that stop, the train raises money and collects food for the Friends in Need Food Shelf of St. Paul Park.

  • 7:15 p.m. Friday in St. Paul, at Union Depot, 214 Fourth St.
  • 2:20 p.m. Saturday in New Hope, at the railroad crossing at 49th Street North.
  • 3:35 p.m. Saturday in Golden Valley, at the railroad crossing at Golden Hills Drive.
  • 4:35 p.m. Saturday in St. Louis Park, at the Lake Street crossing, near 6812 W. Lake St.
